'Grit' build up in shower screen (with picture)
Good morning!
On a routine clean of my shower screen I noticed a not insignificant build up of a grit or sand type product. Obviosuly coming from the machine.
I cleaned it out, and 2 weeks later it returned, and the same again
*I have plumbed in via a water filter: Brita C150*
My current thinking/fears include:
- the in-line water filter I use is broken/leaking and bringing product into the machine, all the way through the boiler and into the chamber
- the previous owners (I think it was in France and then Spain) may have used non-filtered water and this is the calcium build up breaking up and flowing through
- something else?
Any help much appreciated...
Andy
P.S. Here is a 'wenge' PF funnel I had custom made- nice huh?!

per our instant messaging chat have a go and let us know how you get on
i think you want to flush it out slowly as you know you are only putting soft water in
using a descaling solution is likely to liberate large flakes of scale and result in a blockage
then you will have to start taking pipes off, which isnt the end of the world but as things stand it is avoidable
reiss.
