Pump won't shut off after water filter change

My LR has been running a treat and today after a routine water filter change, the pump won't shut off once i turn it back on. The pressure valve in front shows the pressure building but it's never taken this long to refill and since i am afraid of running the pump dry I have been shutting it off after about 30-40 secs. Any troubleshooting i can do? I put in a brand new filter from a shrinkwrap and as I mentioned i've never had an issue before. Please help :)

  • Hi Lloyd

    Thanks for posting

Soak the filter cartridge for about 10 minutes, in a vertical inverted position so you can see the water displacing the air from the cartridge

Refit and the pump should now draw

Remember rotary pumps will not pull water like a piston pump will; they need to be fed water or they run dry and strip their linings

They will not pull water through a new cartridge that is full of air, hence the need to soak the cartridge prior to fitment

Let me know how you get on

    Kind regards
