When putting the machine together last night I noticed something.... I am not sure if the white gasket is supposed to be split like this or not?

Yes, that is the perfect way for it to be. There is no other way.
Imagine it not being open. How would someone get it on there, or off to replace it ever?

Thanks

The teflon ring is a spacer rather than a gasket, so the gap is of no consequence. Looks perfect!
