Cold espresso

Hi
I have made an espresso and got a cold coffee
The Londinium was on for couple of hours
Any idea why?

  • My first idea is you did not do a short cleaning flush after the previous espresso?
  • hi yechiel

when you say you 'got a cold coffee' what do you mean exactly?

for example, if there was no pressure in the system (i.e. a cold system) you would not get a coffee from the L1 at all

so you had some pressure in the system

i am sensing that the coffee that you refer to was the first one you pulled too

i.e. you turned the machine on and came back after two hours and yes, the system should be nice and hot everywhere

i expect the anti-vacuum valve is getting a bit tired, and is sticking now and then

this will cause the situation that you report

next time you turn the machine off have a look after an hour and see if the anti-vacuum valve is still in the up (closed) position, although even this is not determinative as they often don't stick every time initially, but rather just now and then

recommended course of action: replace anti-vac valve, or at least get one ordered so you have it to hand when you need it

    kind regards
