What about a copper or brass, (or, I suppose stainless steel) wire grate for the drip tray, in place of the laser cut SS one?

yes, we've certainly rolled this idea around in our heads a few times
perhaps we will one day, but its less like now that we have the enhanced plumbing kit as this requires a second, shallower drip tray, which in turn necessitates a different grate
the wire grate we would want to make would match those on the L2 & L3, which requires a form tool, which is a fixed cost
i suppose we could do it, but i think the rectangular punching has become a strong part of the LONDINIUM I's identity
whilst i appreciate why some people might want a wire tray, i don't think it is an aesthetic improvement
it would definitely be in stainless if it were to happen
