65% brew ratio

Hi all

I am using the"old" L1 machine.

I find that i get the best shots with a brew ratio of 65% which gives me quite low brew quantity.

I am using the IMS 26.5 filter with 18.5g dose and usually get 28.5g of espresso. If i set the grinder to coarser setting i can get to 50% ratio but i find it not taste as the 65% ratio.

Is it normal?

    It depends on your boiler pressure, the time you take for pre-infusion, the basket used etc. But it does not sound too strange and if you like the brew that is the absolutely most important thing.
