Water hardness test kit
In another thread I posted my findings with a cheap water hardness kit that I bought locally. The results were confusing as it didn't show more than a drop of difference between unfiltered water and the water from my DVA/LT water filter system (the type regenerated with salt).
I ordered the kit from Londinium which was delivered earlier today so I could try this one and it made huge difference.
Unfiltered water shows (9 drops) 180ppm hardness
Filtered water shows no measurable hardness: the water turns blue at the first drop. See pictures:
Pure water:
Unfiltered water after 8 drops:
Unfiltered water after 9 drops (tested this twice):
Filtered water after the first drop:
More drops make it more blue, but it has skipped the other color
