Milk drinks or straight expresso?

As Reiss has raised this subject in his blog, I thought I would jot down my specialty coffee habits here and invite others to post theirs.

For me it is not milk or no milk, but both. Like many Italians, from whom I learned to drink espresso decades ago, I have a small cappuccino (4 or 5 oz) in the morning followed by single espressos throughout the day. I use the same "specialty" coffee for both, as I tend to get a coffee dialed-in and then use it for a month or so until I change coffees. This is the most efficient system for me. I'm pretty sure I can not only detect the difference between quality and ordinary coffee in my cappuccinos, but also different espresso single origins and blends. But I can't be bothered blind testing that claim, as it isn't important to me. I like my morning cappuccino and I like my straight shots as well.
